Jaeho Hwang, CEO of Mintrocket and creator of Dave the Diver, said he wants to make separate games to show what each character does and how they met. This would allow the studio to explore each character’s personal history and origins.

According to the developer, one game could show Dave’s life and career before he became a diver. It could also reveal how Cobra became an arms dealer before coming to the tropical region. Hwang believes that expanding the series in this way will make possible what can’t be done in Dave the Diver.
Hwang also hinted that spin-off games could take the series in new gameplay directions. This suggests that other productions could go beyond the adventure/RPG/simulation basics of the first game.
